Having just built a lovely holiday home in country Victoria, we needed a very special table to compliment our beautiful surroundings and accommodate our large group of family and friends. Our home has gorgeous views of the High Country, so recycled timber sits beautifully in our environment. Several years ago we came across Neel Dey's beautiful recycled timber furniture and there was, for us, no other choice. Jim helped us select a beautiful strong and elegant design that would suit our home, meet our requirements, and even managed to incorporate the name of our property. This was really special as it's the name of Fergus' family farm in Kenya. Delivery 2.5 hours out of Melbourne was also arranged with ease. We look forward to our first dinner party at our new table which will become a family heirloom, hosting many sumptuous, fun filled feasts. Thanks Jim, and all the staff at Neel Dey Furniture, it has been a pleasure working with you.

I searched on the internet for months trying to find the perfect recycled hardwood timber dining table. I finally settled on Neel Day as they were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. I based my table on one that they had made before for someone but added my own touches. Another concern i had was the fact they were in Victoria and i was up in the hunter valley in nsw, they assured me that they would use one of their trusted removalists and they would take extra care of my table which they certainly did and the cost was very reasonable. My table arrived yesterday and to say i was happy is an understatement. It is better than i even imagined. The quality, craftsmanship and finish is outstanding. I cannot recommend this company highly enough and will definitely be telling all my friends about Vinko and Jim.

We just wanted to tell you again how much we love the recycled timber bed you made for us. It is exactly what we were after and we often find ourselves standing in our bedroom admiring it and talking about what an amazing piece of furniture it is.We had a bit of a house warming a few days after it was delivered and it was the envy of all our friends (so much so that I think Katie came down to your work shop recently to talk about having something made).Having the bed made from recycled stringybark from the roof of the old Channel 9 studio on Bendigo Street, Richmond is also really special for us and makes us feel like we sleep in a little piece of Melbourne's history every night. When you suggested a mixed species table, we thought "Why not?". We are so glad we did as we love the table, as do all who've seen it. At times it is treated like a functional sculpture, people want to run their hands over it, feel the saw marks, identify the timber and talk about the possible origins. Complimented by Sara Paxton's painting "Three Cows", the table not only lifts our dining area to gallery status but is extremely functional and the centrepiece for all of our social gatherings. Rarely a day goes by that one of us doesn’t still openly admire them and they’re the envy of all our friends too!The perfect addition to a 1920’s CBD warehouse conversion, they sit perfectly within the space and look like they have been there forever. Exactly what we visualized when we came to you with our request.Who would have thought that recycled old Messmate floorboards could become such a beautiful focal point. The wood grain Laminex benches of old are a distant memory now... :) I have included a before and after shot, so you can see exactly what a difference they have made.
